Torbanlea Picnic Races

Torbanlea's Annual Picnic Race Day starts with grounds opening on Saturday October 17 for those who wish to camp on site for the week.

The Race Day is Saturday October 22, with everything from foot races, tug o war, celebrity events, fashion of the field, and of course the picnic races which run from 9am. There are stalls, food, entertainment, jumping castle and kids activities.

The day is action packed, and the best family day out by a country mile so make sure you come along. Buses run from Hervey Bay and Maryborough or catch the train to Howard. Just 300 kilometres north of Brisbane, you can do the races on Saturday, then spend the rest of your weekend enjoying the delights of the Fraser Coast or Fraser Island.

Maryborough Heritage Craft Fest

Local artisan and crafters dressed in period-style costumes combine in the magnificent Maryborough City Hall to demonstrate and sell their hand-crafted items at the Fraser Coast's most prestigious craft event, the award-winning Maryborough CraftFest. There will be a huge variety of arts and crafts represented with something to interest both the ladies and the gentlemen. There will also be regular lucky shopper draws throughout the day. A canteen offering hot and cold drinks and snacks is operated by the Maryborough Lioness Club. All proceeds from the event are donated to local charities.
