Pre-Christmas Produce Only Markets

STOCK up on fresh local produce for Christmas Day at a special one-off Maryborough City Heart Produce Market on Tuesday, December 23.

Get ready for Christmas with a produce only market! These markets will include all the best fruit, vegetables, fresh produce and flowers.

The stallholders invitation-only Produce Market would be held in the inner-city McDowell Car Park in place of the regular Thursday Market Day, which falls on Christmas Day this year.

The Maryborough City Heart Markets will also host a special Christmas themed Market Day on December 18 with an appearance from Santa Claus, children's games and decorated market stalls.

As well as no market on Christmas Day on Thursday, December 25, there will also be no market day on New Year's Day on the following Thursday, January 1.

The regular Maryborough City Heart Markets will recommence for 2015 on Thursday, January 8.

Illumination Parade 2014

Don't miss the amazing walking spectacle as we celebrate a symbolic whale migration from Freedom Park to Nala at the Discovery Centre. Glowing, shining, beaming and sparkling for a cause as the night darkens, the Hervey Bay community come together annually for the much loved Illumination Parade; uniting local business, cultural and sporting organisations, charities, schools, youth groups and families as they light up the sky with colourful, amazing and sometimes crazy creations.

The extravaganza shimmers as it weaves along a trail that represents the migration of the famed Humpback Whales that return to the Bay’s pristine shores to rest and play. It attracts thousands of spectators to cheer the entrants as they vie for fantastic festival prizes.

The theme of this year’s Parade is ‘Mystery of the Oceans – LEGENDS UNDER THE SEA’. The parade commences 18th October at 6:00 pm and the last entrants should have reached Nala in all her breaching glory by 7:00 pm.

Hervey Bay Seafood Festival

The Hervey Bay Seafood Festival is held at the Urangan Boat Harbour in August every year (for over 10 years now!). The local commercial fishing industry supplies the stalls with the delicious seafood for the day, while fellow community groups supply refreshments.

Love seafood! Then join us at the only seafood festival in Australia managed by the men and women who catch it for you. Celebrate, relax and feast with the seafood industry in Fishermens Park Urangan. Be sure to bring your own chair or picnic blanket and come on down!
