Fraser Coast Show 2012
A world of fun, laughs, action, thrills and non stop entertainment is all included in the gate price at this year’s two day Fraser Coast Show at the Maryborough Showgrounds on 25-26 May. The adrenalin-boosting entertainment program includes award winning monster truck, Outback Thunda, flaming, thumping Jet Quad and the breathtaking Human Inferno.
Animals are at the heart and soul of the Fraser Coast Show with the region’s finest on show in competitions, events, demonstrations and displays of cattle, team penning, dogs and over 250 equestrian classes in the centre ring. The Fraser Coast Show is an adventure ground for kids, full of amazing discoveries and free entertainment. They can get up close with farm animals, be entertained with tap, jazz and hip hop performances and enjoy the ever popular Pooki Doos.
Returning, by popular demand, is the Saturday evening Rodeo. Spectators will be exhilarated by the daring feats of the rodeo riders and the awesome brute force of the beasts and can then chill out to live music after the rodeo
A spectacular fireworks display will be held both nights with an exceptional finale to close the Show on Saturday night.

Renew: Real Illusions Exhibition
From 18th May till 7th July at the Hervey Bay regional Gallery xxpect to see the most original, innovative and quirky objects ever, in this contemporary and perhaps controversial exhibition of artworks created using non-mainstream materials.Artists from across the Wide Bay region and Queensland, as well as from interstate, have been selected to present their most unique and skillfully created artworks expressing a theme of their choice.
The only catch is that they must use predominantly recycled objects or ‘alternative’ materials as their media of choice.
This particularly entertaining showcase verges on the strange, if not absurd, in exploring a range of ideas and approaches to creating art.

World Gratest Shave 2012
Be Brave & shave or colour your hair to raise funds for blood cancer research and free support.
More than 125,000 people will sign up to shave or colour their hair, raising funds for research and free services for people with leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and related blood disorders.
This event raises around half of the funds the Leukaemia Foundation needs for its Vision to Cure and Mission to Care each year. The Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave is one of Australia’s most popoular fundraising events.
There are hundreds of events this weekend across the country from 15-18 March. They're all free to attend, with hairdressers and equipment all provided. Whether you're shaving or colouring, the more money you raise the more people we can help.
So come to Stockland Hervey Bay on 16 and 17th March and help raise the funds.
